A little bit about
us...
Terranova Tutors was founded in 2006 following
a request from a nursery school to teach French
to the pre-school children. At this time I was
mainly doing private tuition in languages and
English and I was happy to take up this new
and exciting challenge. It turned out to be
very successful and rewarding and most of all
the children took to it extremely well.
Following this positive start, I have since
begun working with many nurseries and this venture
has proven very popular so far. I have now taken
on other like-minded tutors so I can offer the
service to more nurseries. I take care of all
the planning for these tutors and they are all
'CRB' checked. They have all been fully trained
by myself to offer the same high standards throughout.
Our team consists of qualified language teachers,
French people who live and teach in the UK and
PGCE students, so you can be assured that your
children will receive an excellent base in a
new language alongside lots of fun.
We always aim to work with nurseries to provide
the best service for you and following feedback,
we also offer Spanish tuition due to popular
request. In some of the nurseries, we base our
activities around the general monthly themes
taking place in the nursery. So far, some of
the topics we have covered are: basic introductions
and greetings, numbers, colours, Christmas,
winter and mini beasts. The activities usually
include interactive games and pictures alongside
some songs.
My Background
I have a BA honours degree in English and
Drama, and A-levels in French, German, English
and Business. I also lived in Spain for four
years and so have a keen interest in the Spanish
language. I did two years of a Bachelor of Education
degree in early years and so I have some classroom
experience to bring to this venture. I have
also been involved in Play schemes run by the
council, which gave me a good base. |
